Boost Your Home's Value This Summer with a Fresh Coat of Paint
Summer is here, and it’s the perfect time to give your home a makeover. Whether you're looking to increase your home's value or just want to freshen up your space, a new paint job can make a world of difference.
Should I Paint That? Painting Concrete Floors
If you live in a home with an unfinished basement, chances are that every time you walk downstairs, you have to encounter your concrete floors. Or heading out into your garage every day you see the smooth concrete of your garage floor. If you’re trying to think of some ways to liven things up a bit, it might have crossed your mind to paint it. Painting your concrete is much cheaper and easier than trying to install another kind of flooring over top of the concrete and, if it’s done well, you can end up with a nice result that won’t be an eyesore.
Should I Paint That? Kitchen Cabinets
Doing work on your kitchen is one of the best ways to increase or add value to your home. If you’re in a position to do a full remodel, go for it, because it will offer you some of the greatest returns on your investment in your home. If, however, you’re not in a position to invest a lot of money into redoing your kitchen space, you can make a big change just by adding some fresh paint. There are lots of different ideas that you can consider when it comes to adding paint in the kitchen and you can read about some of our ideas here, in last month’s blog. If you’ve decided that you want to paint your cabinets to spruce things up a bit, we’re here to give you some tips and tricks.
The Power of Paint in the Kitchen
The kitchen is typically one of the most lived-in rooms in the house. Many people enter the kitchen first thing in the morning to cook breakfast and go straight to the kitchen when they get home from work to prepare dinner. Kitchens can be a communal space for people to gather as they cross paths throughout a day or a place to eat a relaxed meal when you don’t want to set the dining room table. In smaller homes, kitchens might not be large enough for people to want to spend time in but even then, members of a household are in and out of the kitchen several times throughout any given day. Additionally, many kitchen formats are open in some way to the rest of the house and could be visible from the dining room or the living room. So, it stands to reason that an outdated kitchen could decrease your level of comfort in your home, not to mention potentially decrease the value of your home when it comes time to sell.
