Exterior Painting Process

After initial meeting, a written scope and pricing will be provided.
Start
Remove any obstacles such as deck furniture. Homeowner to close all windows before work commences.
Wash
Pressure Wash exterior with environmentally and pet friendly detergent. Protect shrubbery/plants. Collect any and all loose debris.
Surface Preparation
Repair all substrate defects. Hand scrape and power-sand. All cracks filled and sealed with top of line caulk. We make minor carpentry repairs as needed.
Mask
Mask and cover all non paintable areas.
Paint
When using airless sprayer with fine finish tips, we will do the body first, then trim colors, then doors, shutters and misc.
Clean
Maintain a clean, safe, quiet work environment. All gear neatly stowed away every night.
Inspect
Ensure all facets of project meet our stringent standards. Provide walk thru with customer to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Decks & Fence Painting

Vinyl Siding painting
Before painting vinyl siding, PaintPositive will scrub with a warm, soapy water solution, rinse thoroughly and allow plenty of time to dry. We are alert for mildew as; if present, we use a bleach solution to eliminate it prior to painting. Priming is not generally necessary. We utilize specific paints for vinyl siding.
Brick & Stucco painting
We will assess the condition of the substrate when repainting. Stucco cracks will telegraph through the topcoat and will be repaired with patches and sealants prior to repainting. If the job calls for waterproof protection, we will use an elastomeric coating. Brick surfaces will be wire brushed to remove efflorescence. We then treat the bare brick with one coat of conditioner before painting with masonry-compatible latex paint.
Aluminum Siding painting
Aluminum siding will be power washed with the correct detergent to rid the surface of chalk, oil, and other foreign materials prior to painting. We can achieve a terrific, factory-finished look by using Sherwin Williams Duration Satin.
Wood & Trim painting
Cedar shake or siding, as well as redwood, will be primed with an exterior oil-based wood primer. A primer is essential – we know from experience that it will serve as a barrier coat to help prevent tannin bleed, a brownish or tan discoloration that can appear on a painted wooden surface. We utilize specific Sherwin Williams product that resists mildew and retains its color for several years.
