Should I Paint That? Bathroom Elements

Bathroom Painting, yay or nay.

Bathroom remodeling is always a yay, as it transforms the space into a more functional and aesthetically pleasing area. One of the most impactful ways to refresh a bathroom is through paint, which can completely change the mood and perception of the room. Whether it's a light color to create a serene atmosphere or a bold hue for a statement look, paint can significantly enhance various parts of the bathroom, including the walls, trim, and cabinetry. With careful color selection, even small changes can result in a stunning transformation that adds value and enjoyment to the home.

Cabinets

First, it is important to give your bathroom sink a good scrub down before undergoing any sort of work. When you're painting your bathroom cabinets, remove the drawers, door, and any other hardware that should not be painted. Lightly sand the cabinets for the strongest bond between the cabinet and paint. Do not completely remove the stains from before, only sand slightly. Tape off any edges that you don't want to be painted such as countertops or walls. Paint two coats of your desired color, and that’s it!

Shower Tile

Clean your shower tile thoroughly. Make sure that all dried soap and scum have been scrubbed away to remove buildup. Tape up where the wall meets the tile so that it is not grout or any other bathtub fixtures. The smell of the paint might be very strong, so wear a ventilation mask if you have one. Make sure to paint two coats for the best look.

Walls

First, protect your bathroom floors, cabinets, sink, walls, trim, and any other important areas. Next, you will clean and prepare surfaces that will be painted. Make sure that the buildup of soap scum has been scrubbed away. Once the walls have been cleaned they can be primed and painted. Next is the fun part where you get to paint! Once again, paint up to two coats for the best look. If you have a dark color, you may need to paint an extra coat.
